Today was an awesome end to the week! We headed over to the Newseum for a sketching trip and also found some time to see a 4D movie and check out the great exhibits.

Day Four
Today, we took a private tour of the Library of Congress. The students worked on drawing sections afterwards, and applied what we learned yesterday about elevations to their work.

Day Three
Today EiA_2011 had their first sketching field trip. We went to the National Building Museum where we learned a new sketching technique!
Afterwards, we went back to studio and the students continued work on their first project that they will be presenting tomorrow. Nature vs. man made.
"All work and no play makes jack a dull boy", so we keep the studio lively!
The day was ended with a movie night! We all gathered in the architecture school's auditorium and watched Despicable Me.

Day Two
This morning, the students received a sketching lecture from Professor Eric Jenkins in Koubek auditorium.

Next, they were critiqued on the first homework assignment of constructing a 3"x 3" cube.

Day One
Today we kicked off our 2011 Experiences in Architecture program! The day started with introductions from our beloved staff members, Dave, Randy and Michelle.
After the mornings events, we broke the students up into studio groups and set them to work building their first models.
In the evening we blew off some steam on Capitol Hill at Top Chef Spike's Good Stuff Eatery and We the Pizza restaurants, and narrowly dodged a thunderstorm on the way home.
